This article on lubrication and the article "Reducing Snags" on the next page were previously published in January 2001, Volume 2, issue 1, of the Antique Knitters Circular.  They are published again in The Circular to emphasize the importance of lubrication and bobbin winding to successful knitting.
       The article on page 6, "Rib Cuff" by Elsie McCarthy was a response to my question about separating socks from scrap yarn.  Elsie has made over 4000 pairs of socks and you can be sure she knows her cuffs.
